Gift Shop
Rockland
1. There are no restroom facilities at the lighthouse. Please utilize the restrooms adjacent to the parking lot.

 2. Wear comfortable shoes. High heels, flip-flops, or other strapless footwear are not recommended when climbing the tower.  3. Use caution when climbing the stairs to the lighthouse and then again when climbing the steps inside in the tower. Use the hand railing where appropriate.
 4. Dress warmly. The lighthouse is located on a precipice 75 feet above the ocean. Expect higher velocity winds and lower temperatures as compared to the parking lot.

 5. Never walk to the lighthouse if you suspect a lightning storm. If you get caught during a lightning storm, stay inside or near the lighthouse until the storm passes.

 6. We have a "carry in - carry out" policy. Please do not leave trash in or around the lighthouse.
Hours of Operation: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends, holidays, and other special event days, from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend, weather and volunteer availability permitting.

Accessibility: Lighthouse is a two-tenths of a mile walk on a dirt road leading from the Owls Head Light State Park parking lot.
1. We have no running water or bathroom facilities at the lighthouse (although there are Port-a-Potties set up in the Park area in the summer months). As you would do with any hike, bring water for yourself and your pet. 2. Wear comfortable shoes. Use caution. The breakwater is made of granite blocks which can be slippery when wet. Keep your eyes on your feet because there are spaces between the blocks and some blocks are uneven. Falls usually result from not paying attention. 3. Dress warmly. There is always a breeze on the breakwater and as you approach the lighthouse (almost a mile "out to sea") there is a noticeable decrease in temperature. 4. Never walk the breakwater if you suspect a lightning storm. If you get caught during a lightning storm stay near the lighthouse or keep low along the breakwater. 5. We have a "carry in-carry out" policy. Please do not leave anything behind.
